Just this morning,I was preparing for school and i took thirty minutes just to dress up.Of course not because I'm slow.I put on the outfit I organised the night before: cropped jeans and a tank top.Well it didn't look so nice on me so I took them off and tried on different clothes, then I changed, then changed again.I only got out of the house because I was running late.If it wasn't for that, who knows how many times i would have changed, just to get a look that would totally satisfy me.
This is what inspired me to write this piece. Its an old debate but I just thought I would bring it up.Do ladies dress for guys ,themselves or for other ladies?I'm a little bit confused about the answer to this but we might as well look at all sides of the story.
Just like me,a lot of ladies take ages to dress up even though they might have taken out the clothes that they wanted to wear, the night before. On the other hand, men only take a few minutes as possible. The process is simple, jeans on,golf tee on and then their sneakers. It seems to me that all they care about is just to cover up their bodies.Unlike men, women consider clothing as a form of self expression and it is artistic in a way. This explains why they take time to put an outfit together.I think it is a combination of your mood or a function that you need to attend. Its a matter of what you feel comfortable wearing. However,as much as you might feel comfortable in a certain outfit, somehow at the back of your head you start asking yourself,do people like what I'm wearing? How will they react? What will they think of me?This is where dressing for other people comes in.
Women generally love turning heads.Suppose you are single and you want to go out with the hopes of meeting someone, will this affect how you dress? For me obviously it would.I would make sure I wear something that will grab their attention. Is this part of a mating ritual i wonder.I know a lot of my friends who wear jeans and tees at school during the day but when it comes to weekend nights, they switch into shorts or short dresses just to make an impression to other men who will be at the certain events that they went to.Women will go to the extent of hunting for latest magazine issues just to check the type of clothing that men consider to be "hot" on women.Guys barely do that. The sad thing is they will notice when you wear a tight fitting dress but when you wear those fashionable tops and pants, they might
Lastly, women can dress for other women as well. This can be either for a positive or a negative effect.Starting wit the positive, women are interested in keeping up with the times. We love wearing the latest trends and show it off to our friends so that they pay us compliments and we feel great. My best friend and I always show each other our new clothes when we go for shopping. It's a great feeling knowing that other women envy what you are wearing. And there is nothing wrong with dressing to get compliments from your fellow women.
However, this can be used in a negative effect.Lets say you are invited to a party where you know you will bump into yo ex-boyfriend and his new hot girlfriend, would you wear the same old drowsy outfits in your wardrobe?Certainly you would want to pull up your socks and find something hotter that would make her feel jealous. There is nothing greater than having people admire what you are wearing
Do you think that women dress to look good, for male attention or just to outdo the other women?share your thoughts...!!!
